The scary feeling
Of being surrounded by delusion
And the ability to find
Yourself lost when in a crowd
Is tempting whenever confusion brings it’s
Own atmosphere to your aura
But be thankful you
Are even able to observe
That bit of reality
Because we don’t all get
To observe this world
And each mind is it’s own ocean
But some cannot see their own depth

River

sometimes you have to be
wondering, where did
that thought come from?
the wishing for today,
the wondering what could be the only
path that leads
you away from so much pain?
the collection of memories are like a river
and we all flow down it
in a simple single set of
beliefs that we are
can cause a tidepool to
control you without
you even being aware of it
and I can’t say I will be
strong like this forever
and I know that I will miss you in the
days that make us apart
but the leaf that dropped
from a family tree
settled nicely on the tiniest
spider web of possibility
until it had come to the convergence of
moments in time and space
that would join all the threads together
and then it dropped
to the spot in that river
and flowed on its way
to the nexus point
and then the rest of the journey
was the same as it was for all of us,
not a choice as much as it was
a lot of options to enjoy
and all in due time…

Building attention

behind my eyes i saw
until i wanted to really know
it was when she took my shirt
letting me know it would never be mine
definitely surprised when she asked me
if i would give her my everything and i
never should give that to her again
gave her my ring that i had purchased
and knew i would never get it back
then i achieved a place for us
to live and her design for a room was good
every time i caved in
never insulted her or put her down once
then in return i get treated like
i should smile
only when i have seen through it all
nobody sees me like her sky does

Talking underground

torn between working and rest
after a day of a thousand questions
like one sip of water every single minute
keeping steady like that
it can fill you up real quick like
nobody can stop me from
getting back my one hundred percent
utilizing all positivity kind of groove
needlessly reflecting on all i did
doing my best to be totally compassionate
every day hurts but
really do think that i probably deserve it so
getting up and carrying on is the only choice yet
ready to face each day is a challenge i accept
on the hope i can make it back here tomorrow
underneath the candle glow
near legs of solid marble
do not need much else in this reality

Assume positivity

as the world is
sometimes seems the only view you
see is usually from the
underside of a tire
mornings often start with an
endurance test of memories of last night
putting on clothes and a smile and going
out into the world
sort of feels like torture
in my face
tiny minutes fight its way
in and seems like hours once again
veins of pain grow deep in my brain
if i take a bit to just breathe and try to think
then i recall just how lucky i am
you are in my life so everything will be alright

Dismay leaning

do not make a path
in the way of someone else’s future
some of our best choices
may find a way to become our worst mistakes
across the years you have to find out
young and old we all have very similar
lessons to learn from the errors more than trials
eventually you take your wisdom when
another person makes the bad day better
now you see once again
it may be the early bird that gets the worm
nobody warned you that the second mouse
gets the cheese in the trap

Distance preferences

don’t question the wind
it cannot tell you why it chose this way
stay away from stopping the river
toward a point of joining friends is all it has
always beware of trying to protect from snow
nothing but covered ground is safe from gravity
careful with lightning too
even if it know you it may not recognize you
perhaps you also have a friend who
really moves unrecognizingly fast
ending the past far from the future
for each time you go out
every day is different
right now you do not know if you will become less tired
empty your mind
needing this time
coming full circle
ending that reinvents itself
sometimes should come to pass

Closed window scene

can a goal be like a friend you miss
lifting the edge of a map to see underneath
orderly design is not how rivers flow
sure of this path but not the destination
easily decipherable patterns are not how tree roots grow
directions are like pieces of a puzzle
when the lost don’t want to be found
insight into another person’s life can be odd
not counting when someone can peer into your own
decide to change then follow it up
officials do not choose if they are ignorant
when guidance can only come from the voice within
sometimes bright mornings call like a distant cousin
complimenting on things that do not exist anymore
effect those who might not even know your name
now i see you wanted me to stay
eventually choosing to go together someday

Achieve

Only so many moments bring
People together in life and it is a day
To remember when someone’s soul is really reborn,
In salute to the best times you have had
In the moment when you are
First free in the world
And people gathering who are
Happy for that specific event, but thanks must
Be given to the power of positivity, for it is
So easy in this life to be brought down by
Another person’s unhappiness or the terrible drama
Or issues that constitute most of people’s life
But if you can come through at the beginning of
Every day by remembering that being alive is
Good and you are lucky to be where you are at
And have what you have, but more importantly
That every single person has had has had somebody
Change their mood by being positive and everyone
Can effect someone by being there for them and being
Positive, it is
A great day when this happens
And I try to do that every day

Definition games

during the day a struggle awakens
envoking these dark days of
finding out how easy nothing will be unless
nervous times that need to have
intervention when the steep and dark clouds arrive
tamed the demons of many a twisted mind
if a warped soul gets out it helps to know what to look for
or at the very least how to stay guarded
now that walls cannot keep out your enemies
get wary and keep a close eye on your
agreements made within this world
molded from rough times and slivers of trust
emit understanding for what you see
staying frozen in one spot or idea is no longer an option
