prevent pretending

purpose has grasped the new month
reminded of all things hopeful and green
equal time spent talking and sighing
very little timid actions taken anymore
every minute counts at this particular point in life
not that i have little concern for the vaue
that comes with what hasn’t been learned in the past
people protest because there are people who don’t know why people protest
riddles of what is truely unjust and what is real
entirely unbelieveable as the greed of a politician
tasteless as a lawyer’s private comments
evil men with money are as common as air
nowadays the unusual thing is a nice kind person
doing the best they can to help other people
including even the smallest need
nobody even deserves to be unaddressed
good souls know how to find and fight for each other

sunburn at nighttime

shifty wind, slowly, softly
underneath the shade of a branch i know
normally not as slightly still as this
but this is the evening i can recall and heal
utilizing each hour like the last bite of cake
reaching a bruise to feel the scar
nineteen minutes and nineteen reasons
arranged to line up the least of the light
tonight will not be like the rest of this year’s
nighttime developments which have happened before
in the new century of looking for yourself outside
giving to others what you hoped to recieve
having a weight lifted off of you when the door is opened
tested by these happenings and occasions
taking time to accomplish what i know i needed
it is not too late to figure out a new path
my pain is for the deep spirit of the moment
every day i still feel hope

molten tears

at first,
a spark,
little stars,
eating up oxygen,
and molding a direction,
making way and using what is there,
utilizing what can be used,
growing,
as a kind of devouring,
of an often dangerous nature,
takes fast and furious next steps,
evolving,
and becoming the teeth that
warriors must fight against,
upon land once so lush,
an ecology which is nearly decimated,
will embark on a green rebuilding year of less thorns
once enough time has passed,
but those who kept the battleground,
after pulling survivors from the tumult aftermath
yet coming together in the furious,
grafted speedy departure,
we mourn and hurt inside the
searing heal,
as our losses and remembrance
are followed by charred scars and irreplaceable memories,
bits soothed by thanks to those who
provide help so that life may live,
again

mere morning again

many times i have been
ending the night by greeting the morning
right in time for dawn is when you don’t want to be awake
effortlessly and brave, i am right there
making sure nobody will disturb the moment
opening out of a habit of improvement newly formed
reading into every comment or detail out of place
neatly disarranged as the future must be
including another person in your life must be a challenge
not that i ever knew what that was like
gaining strength day by day once again
after the kind of life this has been
go out as often as you want because you only live
as fast and fun as you can get away with
introduce yourself to every day as if you never met one
normal is not something you and i have ever been

stop painful conflict

Sorrow will not help us now, it is

Tearing apart our society when

Our own families can not count on

People who are supposed to help, that instead hurt,

Protecting the way that

Armies make peace by starting wars,

Instigating battles while justice sits blind,

Never judge a group by just one individual,

Figure out the past to heal the future,

Use this as a reason to try to come together and

Learn to find a way to counteract this hate,

Cope with what problems are being avoided

On the occasion that divisions start to break us,

Never forget that we are all in this together,

Face the fact that anger causes difficulty and doesn’t solve it,

Leaders who succeed know both sides of the fight

In time resulting in an understanding

Causing all races to be respected and law enforcement to be respected,

That will only happen when it is deserved

attention reminders

after i learned this about right here
then every place else seems to
take half as long for the time to pass
even up in the sky the clouds tend to stop
not even inching by as the birds sit still
tips of fingers feel like the hour hand on the clock moving
indecisive on the way to express all
of the thoughts running in and out of my head
no particular way is the best choice
rivers that roll or rage or tickle
each away at the rocks i once called home
mud and leaves like friends i used to embrace
in the sky the only light i need
names and faces of the places i miss the most
during the conversation i replay my whole life
enduring the reliving of memories locked in
reading into the language of the planet
sometimes one kiss from you is the whole world

revolution motivation

reading your thoughts like a book
easy to start but difficult to end
violet leaves collected on the deck chairs
on the blue light hovers a small laugh
like a butterfly hopes to outrace the breeze
underneath a few small trees
tin-colored sky
in the eyes as blue as a rolling ocean
offering myself up to destiny
narrow edges on the
mighty cliffs of fate have got thier fears
only the people who lived here before us
took these views as a direction to travel
intimate drinks and first time meets
very capable heat for the people at home
and calm that stays over for the night
trading this power away for some escape
include me in your life or go away
of all the days i have left
none are as important as each today, with you

i do not know why any more

in the times when we had good memories
during each morning grateful and each evening confused
only one look in the bedroom but
now every nap can show a different message
on the kitchen counter or on top of the couch cushion
taking a few minutes to embrace when it counts
keep your chin up and don’t let yourself down
narrowly dodged bullets occur in every life
one day you will tell me you love me
when you do it won’t happen only in my dreams
why do the winter days seem so much fun
having nothing to do but make art and have yummy food
you have eyes that i will never forget
after all these years the grey clouds have cleared
nighttime is more and more and more magical with you
yellow candles and the glow of the moon
mighty winds just make me want to walk
on the edge of blowing over or fighting forth
reaching into the interior of my mind
eating waves of fire

doing thier very best to distract your
eyes from final fires and evil desires
deny the cruelties and come back to when times are right
into your mind will arrive many shining joyful lights
nights and days blend together like paint
vital ways may never be had again
interpreting what direction
that the best future would want to take
across hours thoughts string along like spiderwebs
taking any logic for a ride
inside the stars and under the forest and river
