every day a day a painfull thing can happen
and the ability to keep your mind as level as you
can is the way to remain steady
however calm and strong you know you can be
hope and resolve can always help
use the things that are your base
realize that you never know how strong you are
till being strong is the only choice you have

pint of rain

portray the introduction of a hurtful place
in the memories that still exist
normal upbringing is not what you had
tempted to just avoid the past that still exists
offering the sharing of where the behavior comes from
feeling like the explanation of where you came across
realizations that define who you are
after the plains have been crossed and the mountains seen
introduced to the homes that will make your future
now that the bruises can hopefully heal

places i have been and seen
are not as important as here and now
really becoming one with this moment
there are so many reasons why
on the wishes of a joined existence
framing the day with friendships made
taking time to appreciate
how happy you can make me
ever since we held hands
under the blanket
now i ask for that every night
in a home of us
violet leaves fall off a tree
ending the loneliness we have known
ready
say the word and i will do anything for you
every day for you
say the word

placing the rock back home
echoing and making a garden grow
roasting and sure and evidentially here
maybe a season to
ache and angst and angry seek
no time out unless it is alone
every night a dream
not a day without waking
taking a taste of everything
being here for her on every occasion
ready to run
unless we sleep
in the still of the nighttime
saying everything
ending the talk with a kiss

my heart is on fire

making the wind
yawn at me from the right direction
has the effect of a full tank of gas
evidenced by the hop of each step
across the streets that I knew so well
reading this atmosphere in the feel of the mood
tasting the snapshot of a life with each breath
into the sky I see the steam of my life
soft little echoes of many dimensions of city
often I find myself in the area and walking
nice memory park might as well be its name
fire in the brain and heart will not stop this time
if it comes time to learn I am
ready to suffer and be as persistent as I can
easily conquered is not the kind of life I want

recover infinite joy

reading into every comment doesn’t help
ending the day thinking too much doesn’t either
capturing moments in the words that bite
opening my mouth is now something i avoid
very deep in the calm that is my soul’s pool
emotions have become strangers in the house
riding the waves of socialization and sound
if i was the last one to leave i would miss you
none of the past three years do i regret
for now i avoid the pain i once enjoyed
intense analysis of
nights of insanity and days of desire
i have played hide and seek with
thousands of moonbeams and stars this year
enter the evening with a
joyous song in your soul
only the open air and
you can bring me home this time

completed destination

complicated times cause people to be
orderly in the way they beat each other down
minutes can pass slowly when you cannot
please your brain any direction this day
like the hundred times you doubt
every time a whole day goes wrong
there are only statements to show yourself
each bit of time when
dispair will be shown that it will not win
drowning in rain is easier than this
eyes seem to reveal far too much these moments
sometimes i just want to hear someone say they care
the best i can get is to hope i am not abused
in time i will build up bigger walls
not that this comes as a suprise of any kind
ache of an emotional sort like a pocket watch i carry
there are ways to relieve my wearyness
into the living room under a warm blanket
on this plate a warm pumpkin brownie
now i just need your embrace to be completely recharged

nineteen months ago

notice the little changes and
issue yourself permission to move on
now is the soonest you can make a change here
everytime is how much you know i love every day
thier life is not like ours in that way
end any reason you have to feel fear
equal to alone time should be time time out being social
not one hour goes by that i don’t think of you
mountains or sea i really want you here with me
offering myself to you as often as you let it happen
naming the fun things we have done together
this pain you feel must be healed
have my life in exchange for your renewal
sacrifices will, of course, have to be made
after all, we live for the moment
gifts of time are the best ones there are
only you can make yourself live without regret

endurance elements

equal parts gratitude and regret
night is coming in like a dark storm
deeper into the mountains and stars we will
use the fire in our soul to carry on
roaming under the blanket of branches
allowed to be molded by the depth of silence
needles from pine trees fall in the breeze
collecting a walking stick and a few giant leaves
elms that almost have faces in the bark
ending the river walk by picking up a rock to keep
love is a forest that welcomes you in
eventually the air lightens a person up
maybe you see the magic if you know how to look
every leaf is a hand waiting to be read
nineteen months seems like forever now
taking time to appreciate the way life can be
sharks start to die if they sit still too long
