wake up

In the morning

and rushed to clock in and

just when I did someone else

on my team called in sick and asks I was

working choked up

and couldn’t

breathe and so what

I got a job to do and

had begun to follow through

before I hurt myself bad

enough to bleed from my

nose and I could not

really even see real well

but the person I was helping

was so grateful and glad and

I took them from angry and

sad and never had been

so capable while hurting

and being uncomfortable yet

I went on and carried

the day and was not letting

the blood seep on
