as wandering as I was
across the land aglow
or in dim of night
I rested near an old bog
and what should I see
but an old hound approach me
And he sat and shared a secret
you were shown a narrow path and
have you forgot?
over near here you had
your first drink
of brandy and late moon stories and
Over yonder you had
seen your first deer head on a wall
lit up red
and ignored by almost all but
near the top of the hill
was a house of stone
which hid you
when you ere most scared
of the demon raven and
her broken leg cat sidekick yet
you survived to
Meet out the old man
who you can seek out
but will never seek you
now stand and go forth
lest the dawn find you here
and I owe my thanks
but that hound is now in memory only
until I cease to be
I will remember
this story fondly
