closeness trained

come to where i currently exist and
let this desire roam wherever you visit
only your brilliance is what i miss tonight
sometimes even a few minutes of conversation is the best
even when it is the connection too soon broken…
nobody can replace the emptiness that was your space
enduring the recollection of our final closure
shivering ice cubes in your strawberry colored drink
stalling for time when a bit more words are needed
stay in the moment and finish experiencing everything
tasting the three different moments of need
red fingernails that will touch me
access to the memories are wanted
if it was this time last year i would know how to react
narrow the path and aim where you have to go
exit the light and let the moon give you a hug
don’t hesitate to do what makes you feel loved

unfulfilled truth

underneath your words i see how much you miss me
now that i get the reason you don’t show
finding out how much it would hurt
unless the choice is making you see at last
let the months come back into you brain like when you
find your way home and you know deep
inside that you have never been there before
letting myself be hurt like a brick to the face
love is something i never should have tried for
even when i saw it coming i should have turned away
did not know how it felt to have my heart
taking my time learning the painfull lessons
right when i thought it would be the best year
up until you made it clear that you need less of
that distance from human contact than i need and as of this day i
have to barely ask to recieve it

unique standard

usually i am the one who
needs to have your kisses and your touch
in the mood of this night i may need to get out
quick to the street and out along the
unusual route i enjoy taking to go when
ending the evening with one more scene
set the stage and ready the lights and
the curtain soon enough will rise
after this weekend nothing can suprise me ever again
nobody would show up concerned if i disappear
doing my best to get through the winter
and then i can just become the lost soul i am
reaching out to into the darkness to let the inner
demons play for the crowd

needed evening

no sick day is fun with illness but this isn’t
even the very worst one
eagle eyes like yours see through to the meat of the matter
don’t think anyone could distract me from this
even heating up a little lime and sugar
drenching the chicken with a big grinning apple
everything pineapple colored is catching my eye
vines of grape folded over the edge of the bowl
envelope every bite with laughter and softness
now it is like waiting for cheese to melt
in the warm spring wind you put your feet up
nothing pleases me as much as your tiny grin
getting the time with you is perfect

she is right beside you
she is all you ever knew
she is so true
she is the one who shows you
what every one you ever knew was close to

daily persistance

during the movement of the musical chimes
across the clouds which hide stars
if you hear a soft growl it is me on the prowl
letting the wind open up all my wings
yellow starburst lights illuminating brick and
purposefully resisting the drive to think too much
every step bringing the night closer in
riddled with details that all mean new energies
staying in view of that bright and shining moon
is it suprising to you that everything i want is to be near you
sometimes i dream that you and i are on a beach
tasting ice melting around pineapple and black cherry
after an evening like this the sea food tastes better
next to the tree the crow statue sleeps
choosing this night to see around here with new eyes
entering a wooden door for our time to arrive

when heart the fire

while the road yawns out in front of you
having a grin in your eyes is vital
ease into this year you got going and get into it
no dream in unachievable if you
have faith in your abilities and know yourself very well…
emotions can be a gift as well as a torture device and
across the room even you can feel when i am
reminded that the ego of others can be quite cruel
take your spirit strength and make it into a shield
there are times now when i am surprised to find i am
having to remind myself that i am surrounded by friends
eventually even the best parties have to end
finding out how to break the code again
introduce a brand new peace of mind that i made
rich in flavor that happiness can provide
even better than honey in your tea

happiness deferred

having seen so many walk down this path before
around here people don’t talk about thier mistakes
perhaps not learning from them is an easier choice to make…
playing as hard as you can on broken glass
if it was you there would be no reason to ask
now you know better than to struggle through each day
empathy being what reveals how much people are hurting
sometimes things in life want to break you down
so you have to be strong enough to persevere through
doing the best that you can to help others and stay true to
ending this negativity that society heaps on top of you ’cause
finally you saw the glow of inner peace again
every day now like a gift from a great friend
really staying strong is no longer a tough hill to climb
requesting as much of your time as you wish to provide
each minute with you is bliss that helps me survive
don’t ever doubt what i do for you

put your hands in mine
and lets get ourselves up out of here
some of what happened just might be at fault
sliding down the river-covered mountain recklessly
in my mind representing my ambitions
on my heart the symbol of dedication
nominating myself for the craziest year award
and when it hurts and you begin to doubt then just
take some time to change what is in your brain
every day is a brand new universe yet
don’t you ever forget there are people who’d do anything for you
issued a few songs that explain every single thought
stamped on the last door you wanted closed
energies can tell you as much as a conversation
after you see through people not much surprises anymore
so step forward and kick butt at your life
every minute is yours to claim, so just do that!

end of the month

empty your mind, come back to where you’ve been
necessary for you to arrive at peace with those
decisions just like when you accept your mistake
over the roof of hours when you felt you
finally knew just how bad a choice it was
that never made you hesitate before yet you
haven’t contemplated where you really were
employed to serve someones every wish will
make you question where your desires originate
only you are responsible to say you
need something from me and please procure it
then i will feel as valued as i should and
have a spring in my step as i hurry to you
