Making a choice
about time we start
closeness at the crux of the evening
across the cloudy red and orange sky
that this mood of our
silver and gold melting together
while the yum of our time
and the sauciness of our words
go together with the dinner
and after so much waiting
through bland minutes of
daily ritualized routine
there is only so much patience
left inside of me
like a hunger that comes back
quickly
I have to get some
of the delicious sweet kisses
before I go out
it helps me realize
why I have to conquer
all the opposition
when it comes time to confront them
thank you
my amazing lavender covered dream
of a woman
for now I can do anything…

seventh

while waiting for heaven
like silence between
the two songs you adore most
and there are a ton of
thoughts all slowly flowing in
through the exit I never
thought about as a
steel covered safe we both had
many family heirlooms inside
and good food is now not as
valued as good times
yet we have always known if
this is where the diagonal path led
then we will be as well off
as we often knew we were
while the decent temperature
will not stop us from going out
and finding out what it is
that this particular night is all about
but it seems connecting
with the smile you know I want
is the important idea on this occasion
here where our hands are
so intertwined that we don’t
even ponder if they
will ever separate…

new year bliss

only you
could have brought me
from the top of the mountain
to the beach and back again
and I willingly go wherever
the charm of your distant heart will
lead while the sight of you
in glorious memory is like the
reflection of the sun off of a mirror
in the times we got together
I see our touch as the electricity of
one light that leads the way to a
entire megaverse of happy and content
energy which fulfills and places a
desire to never be apart from you ever,
no matter what happens
yet I know that both of our
relentless interconnectivity
will seek each other out even if the
land should shift and the wind will rise up
even if the manipulation of time and space
can make more effort than us yet the gods
who are on our side know that our
two souls are gems that are paired
together for all of eternity through the
ages and beyond,
for sometimes,
two are one

the rooms we visit
remind us where we have been
and I know that I can
be angry when we are not
able to be on our own and
I hate that we have someone else’s
fingerprints all over our lives
and they wont leave us alone so
lets go on a route
to change the way we see the
circle of friends which we have
and be a long way off from here
until we feel that the
simple way of living
is preferred to the confusion that
this moment keeps us bound by and feel
like we can be free and fear not
while the reason we have come together
is clear in our minds
the future will be better if we can
hold on together

yours is the face
I saw in my dreams
and I have to see
if you exist where I have seen
I am looking at the shiny surface
of my watch
to predict how long it will be before you
let me be near you again
there are stones all along the mantle
and a onyx night is out of
the giant pane of glass
and we do not ever want to leave
beneath the tree was a
tiny box for that long ago
and we have to finished our drinks before
it is time to show the
customary gathering of our senses
into a relaxing tub of comforters
if the statue by the fireplace
has the amount of movement we both will show
as the wearing on of the light
may I tell you that my best memory this year
is being with you from
that first night we met

at which things are growing
making the sand
set at making
knowing
connecting
resetting
there are just so many times I am going to say this
I know you know I missed you
and where are we made
or where are we now
how many times you need to be cured
of an illness that seems self inflicted
and you have never been so excited
as the idea of a future
that we can share together
placing my face in your hands
picking out the fun to have
going at a maximum slowness
don’t forget
we have a date set

a hundred days
a thousand hours
and here you are again
jumping on the chance
as I take the bandwagon away
and make the last homecoming
dance just for us as it always was
making the place where the love light breathes
and you know this park as well as I do
and maybe we can rememorize the
silly things we said and so did
so very long ago
but winters are still the same here
and the cars heat up the same way
the same speed
and you are never going to believe that I came back
for your eyes
and to hope you meet my mom
while we get a lunch or three together
and the code of our glances
make the snow seem less cold
and we wake up
to the bark of a dog
and we were never that far apart
no matter how many miles it was,
anyways…

frozen and taken in
staring at the ceiling
imagining and seeing a blank canvas
with the big thoughts all projecting up
and you’re inside my mind
making a ponderous time so clear
while the air heats up once more
I can sense a burst of energy
in order to arrive home
on time or before that
for walking miles through
the snow so deep it is up to my shins
to meet you for a beer or three
on the weekend of fun and yawns
from too much fun had the night before
with you here

the light blue
is ever so slowly entering
as our warmth is
flowing from one moment to the
next as a brief awakening
is the whole galaxy in our room
of time and glow and unification
that our arriving back into the
world of our happy connecting
and joining together as we descend that
mountainous slide of bonding
that is now our journey and
if I can be so glad that this
is what happened when I could
not have predicted this time
last year I would one day be here
and I know this, I am so high-
spirited to be in this place
that nothing and nobody can
ever bring me down again…

final week of december

faces that compare
your every move
to what should be done
and the crossing of a border
on the time when it is risky
when you get up and move
because you know you have to
the cause of your last day here
makes the goodbye that much more
and the cold will fade
even if the memories won’t
and a common mistake
is not even taking one thing
with you when you leave
being so distant from the way you once were
and making your next year
the very best one ever
eventually means you need to keep
your head up
because no one lives forever
