change direction

can the evening become
home vacation and having a
awesome amount of hot chocolate
now that the outdoor world has become
giving a change yet also
equally as cold as an ice cube
doing a warm soup and
in the heat of the fireplace kind of night
realizing that ice cream on a cookie can be about as close to
ecstasy as it gets
coming over to get you a new drink with
tasty kisses but just enough
interest in the cuddle, candle, and moon to
organize a distraction from the bad movie
needing your closeness more than deserts need water

Can not move slower than this
And the silence is as loud as can be
Little amounts of reflected light
Make stars glitter across the tall room
Anchored to the air of stillness
Now that there is the biggest full moon of the year
Denting the sky with its massive face
Collecting the shine to spread around the land
Empathic minds brighten up experiencing it
Never mind what happened last year
These hands are not what they once were
Even the environment feels tenderness now
Right now I have a great future ahead
Exit all the judgements and enter the mind
During these nights I dream gold

Coming in from the cold I can
Only give you a taste of how I am
Unless you are willing to go on a walk and
Realize the hours go by everywhere else
Analyse what makes you think you must
Get more out of this life any more than
Everybody else gets and why not
Make the best of what you wanted
Only so many people get to be as lucky as you
Maybe the fun you want is what you can have to
End your thoughts on the struggles and trials
Now that you can come home and be calm or
Take a night to go have a good time again
Use any time you have to be grateful for
Making as great a life as you got

Beginning of a brand new
Unified feeling of excitement
That feels like birthday every day
This joy in your safe and shiny smile
Ending the wait for a happy
Red frosting covered evening of
Accents and pie and fake snow
Nibbling at the corner of a good book or
Diving head first into a social event
Stopping for only enough time for a balancing act
Under the picture of a street showing history
Not difficult to see yourself right here
Rising up on the road to next year’s best
Instance of why things just keep improving
So much of this life is better now and I am
Eager to see where the next 365 leads

Questions come floating out of the dark
Underneath the warm blanket
Inside the dream state that you are

May you never struggle to come Across your next meal and May you have a roof over your head all the rest of your days. May all the friends you have be sturdy and faithful, and May all of your enemies move far away and forget your name. May all the pains you feel be easily relieved, and May each day remind you of happy times.

mountain time

maybe just a little bit more relaxed
on the moment of coming back up here
under the shadow of giant red rocks
needing to bond with the fresh air
time flowing slower in a stop-motion setting
after the green has left for the year
inside a circle that has a fire interior
no sounds as vibrant as the sounds of nature
the lovely cold joins up with outdoor cooking
issuing eacha place in the story
made complete by a coffee cup with steam coming off
evergreen ceiling and leaf covered floor
