each of us

flinched deep in our soul

as the heat came up and a deadly

mood began shaking the

land we live in yet

there is pain

in the eyes of so many

I have seen as they meet

the tomorrow they could not

have seen coming

and we are all under pressure

as the anxiety steps up

and creates a toll on our days

when the simple solutions to

our furious worry has

gone another way

I can seek out your company

and take solace in your time

because comfort is a rare animal

these days

but we hunt it and
