closing of the day

Cruising to a stop after a day like this
Like the last bit of water leaving the tub
Or a fire still hot but nothing left to burn
Shall we take a moment or three to
Instigate the shallow air to halt and hug
Not a single event could even cause momentum
Giving in to the steady moment grinding down
Opening yourself up to the stillness
Frozen in a completed stop
That caused a bonding with the spot you are at
Heavy limbs and weighted eyelids
Eventually so calm that it is like time ceased
Dark foliage keeping shade on you
Across the slightly numb mind
You can make lines of thought fade away
