there were so many out there
who had gone through it before
and there are only so many days
in all of our lives,
there are rules
and some people even know them, surprisingly
but nobody tells you who you greatest villain is
you have to find out for yourself
and you were not as angry as you thought
once all the cards hit the table
just remember a deeper way of thinking
and remove
the final move of the piece
on the chessboard;
you hear the traffic
you see the storm
you can tell your skin can feel the turbulence
of the cold air
and you ask the right questions
when you find the right words
and only you can
make peace with the times that have come before
every time you should recharge the batteries
before you get up and get outside again
we can do this
you and me
and music makes three
