mastering confusion

more of the same today
and the places you aimed for are taken away
still morning reminding you where to aim
taking a moment to enjoy the rain
every word seems like and old friend
remember the days after a party we struggle again
if you need time alone i understand
now i know what i did wrong and i reprimand
growing into the space of a long highway
can’t even tell you all i want to say
originally i knew what to do and when
now i seem to make new mistakes all over to win
first place in the utter screw up division
usually good at avoiding that kind of sin
so many times i went with the wrong option
is it possible i am not even the favorite sun
only the connection ruined, only tower burned,
not the final lesson learned
