simple life defined

should the days all blend together,
it will not be a worry if you stay focussed,
making it through a lean period is easy if your
placement of mindset is in the right direction,
like changing over your body when seasons shift or
enduring a terrible show because your kid likes it,
live a little bit more like you want to each day,
it won’t be long after ’till you sense the second,
finally when motivation busted in,
even kicking in the door is not a surprise,
didn’t need to think or even blink your eyes a few times,
eventually even the sun got out of your way,
find your drive and really latch on,
introduce the harmony you knew before,
need your own coaching session
every time it seems a new year
does not want you to forget last year’s lessons

desire passwords

daring to speak your thoughts
evidence of the freedom accomplished
staying outside the lines
in case the next superstition decides
reversing those actions from long ago
elegant yet full of unexpected ways
possibilities arise like unprovoked jazz
as if a long story abruptly ends
skip the parts that you know
should make sense to you but don’t
wake up early because that may help
or stay up late because that may help
random bits of unforgettable loss of control
dedicated to collecting the right words
so i can make sense of next year

carried loveliness

captured in a few short glances
all the possible desires of an evening,
ready and waiting, lasting and longing,
revealed after a few minutes of hesitation,
inside the tiny window of sleep inebriation,
effort like a pile of rock on your shoulders,
don’t hesitate to let a little rhythm in,
like when the winged creatures fly at the same time,
or when the snow begins to fall,
vanity is worry and sympathy is fearlessness,
even when the road has shown you its end and
lonely little clouds up in the dark sky,
inch thier way across this evening,
neatly masking the moon so slightly,
ending each day near you is the best,
soft little kisses are a
song deep in the canyon of my heart

static persistence

systems that happen to

take away all of the movement that was building
after a storm hits hard it can
take some time to shift back
including recovery time
chilly as this mood sometimes gets
perhaps a new perspective helps the most
easy to forget the jump start of winter
remember to never let them know what we know or
see what we can see
if you notice each beast has its own scene
some of those animals never stop hunting
there are no longer rooms in that hotel
after the day has ended
now you know exactly where to aim
come over here and get out of the cold
each hour with you like the best cake there is

different realities

don’t think about
it too much because when the
fire starts it will not stop and you
find out real quick that it changes everything
even when you find someone to make your heart sing
ready when you discover someone who drives you to try
even makes you not want to die
now you change your stride
take that winning bet and let it ride
right in time
even if you did not know it
allowing another surprise to show its face
like a runner who keeps going even
if they already ended the race
take a moment to seek a calm minute
its like the saying you gotta be in it to win it
every time i kiss you my brain explodes like happy
so much exuberance

remain very surprised

right now the final day of
every week is only perfect if i get with you
maybe i should just
always pretend that you are here
in case this reality takes a left turn
needs are not even on my radar
vital as the purpose of deep breath
easy as a step forward when you are leaving the plane
really doesn’t matter if you are de-boarding or skydiving
your just gotta know where your are going and if you get there
sometimes the surprises are all in your mind
until you know that you can possibly get lost
played, like you think people are following you when they’re not
reality is not the same for every person
invisible is for sure sometimes how i feel and it
sure is a good feeling every once in a while
even if you know you are out of place
do not let that stop you from getting the right headspace

elimination redundancy

energized by
little moments reminding me of
inspiration i have to protect
my goals and what i am doing to get there,
if i knew everything then that i know now,
nobody even saw me for years
and every person i talked
to never ended up seeing me ever again,
it was like being a ghost,
not unlike running from a
goal right in front of you,
rise to the occasion and find out how
easy it is for you to face difficult fears,
dusting off the old capabilities
under the sword and still not worried,
now these reset buttons begin to
determine the day before it arrives,
attempt to get moving more and more each day,
notes to myself keep piling up,
can’t the floor just catch me this time?

mountain windowpane

maybe tonight
our energies will be calming and
under our roof will only be healthy and
naturally occurring bits of bliss like
taking a bath or a cup of hot chocolate
and watching trees dance as we stay
inside and rustle about and roam around
not many lights on but a candle or two
while we wait for darkness to arrive
interests that require almost no movement yet
nearby is a small furry snoring one
definitely putting on some comfy socks
opening a few cans
while putting my feet up and
placing the meat on some heat
and closing my eyes to listen to some sounds outside
now if i could stay this way untill
everything goes away

advise followings

across the days like a lazy breeze
directing the season to cease
very red frosting out that piece of cake
if the temperature was perfect it would
stay exactly like this but
extract the time to stay focussed once again
find the motivation to make the plans work
only i can translate my dreams to completion
like a harvest that has already been sold
letting the moon decide where to go tonight
on the wings of the wind rides our motivation
while a destination
is busy choosing us this time
none of the hours are ordinary anymore
got to work real hard in order to
stay inside that vacation brain state

attention depleted

adjust your expectations
take this path of least temptation
terror only comes if you
evoke the side of yourself that put you there before
not one day goes by that i do not write to you
tossing aside the unimportant possessions
in an effort to run the longer race
oil the engine with a few really good books
narrow down the confusion and remember where i am
dedicated to granting my love’s every wish
each day a meal of whatever she wishes
pleasing those eyes reveals a smile
like the grin of a snapdragon when the sun creeps in
each thought is her finger running along my skin
that makes me twitch and have lines like a lazer lightswitch
empty as a clockface with no numbers
don’t want free time anymore
